What is an EPC?
An
Energy Performance Certificate contains several important pieces of information. First, it will provide an assessment of how efficient your property is in terms of energy usage. This is measured on a scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). The certificate also includes recommendations for reducing your energy costs through improvements such as
insulation installation or
heating system upgrades. Finally, the certificate will include details on estimated cost savings that can be achieved by making these improvements.
An EPC contains the following information:
• The type of fuel used for heating, hot water, etc.
• The type of insulation installed in walls, floors, ceilings, etc.
• The age and condition of the property’s windows and doors
• Any renewable energy sources such as
solar panels or wind turbines
• A list of recommended improvements to reduce energy consumption
