Who we are

EPC Near Me (epc-nearme.co.uk) is a UK directory connecting property owners with accredited domestic energy assessors. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this site. Contact: info@epc-nearme.co.uk.

What we collect and why

• Enquiries: if you contact us or an assessor through the site (form, email or phone) we process the details you provide so the enquiry can be answered. Enquiries to an assessor are passed to that assessor.
• Assessor applications and accounts: name, email, postcode, mobile number, photo, bio and accreditation scheme details, used to review applications, publish approved profiles and administer accounts and subscriptions.
• Email addresses given during sign-up: kept even if an application is not completed, so we can follow up and, for assessors, tell you about relevant services such as CPD and training. You can opt out at any time.
• Sign-in: we use one-time email links and a session cookie rather than passwords.
• Cookies and analytics: used to run the site and understand how it is used — see the cookie banner for choices.

Legal bases

We rely on: contract (processing applications, running accounts and subscriptions), legitimate interests (responding to enquiries, keeping the directory accurate, relevant business-to-business marketing to assessors), and consent where required. Approved assessor profiles are published on the site — that is the point of the listing.

Sharing and services

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with: the assessor you ask us to connect you with; and service providers who help run the site — hosting (Cloudflare), email delivery (Resend) and, when card payments launch, payment processing (Stripe). Each processes data under their own safeguards and our instructions.

Retention and your rights

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it. Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing — email info@epc-nearme.co.uk. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
